Monday update: Small knee high chop. More surf coming!
Monthly Archives: November 2009
Happy Thanksgiving
Guess what?…it’s still flat!
Unlike years past no surf today, best bet is by the beginning of next week.
Tues. 11.24.09
Flat again…
Monday 11.23.09
Afternoon update: still solid & clean. A bit funky & inconsistant closing out
Sunday update
Sunday 8 am: chest + with clean conditions with a good current(east) towards P-cola. Waves are dumping between the piers and to the left of the boardwalk, while the right side looks a bit smaller but with better lines. Bars are still a little weird, a couple of dudes out on the left and one guy on the right side. It appears like it could be fun, a light drizzle and cold wind on the beach this morning. Skim looks fun @ about thigh to waist liners if you want to brave the cold & rain this AM.
Get it while you can Some of the pix below, I’ll try and update later!
BTW don’t forget about the ESA contest today @ the FWB pier, right side.
Saturd-day
Sat am dawn patrol: still flat. Like a lake. East winds on it causing a light chop, maybe late afternoon.
Tuesday’s word
Yep still flat…but there is hope on the horizon for this Sat. Building east swell. cross your fingers…legs…eyes…cross whatever you can!
Thursday and beyond
Surf is flat. Flat again. The gulf is flat. Tell a friend…
Apparently you scored if you were in Pensacola during the afternoon TS IDA landfall…check out the video here A cool little clip of the local hero Sterling Spencer and his buds killing it…
Wednesday AM sucker punch
Wednesday update: its flat!!! Arrrrghhh…The gulf never ceases to amaze me with its fickle fickleness…what the eff!!!
…skim looks fun though…& don’t be fooled that wave below was maybe knee high & maybe longboardable if you are desperate. PCB is still holding @ waist with bigger sets.

Tuesday AM
Tuesday: Victory at sea!!! extra big and nasty!
Hopefully tomorrow will be the day, North winds 6-8 ft. seas so the forecast says…
Monday update big & blown out the wait is on.
Sunday 11.08.09
Sunday am solid chest to head + clean, kinda closing out, with a healthy east drift. Northeast winds on it but keeping it clean for now. Pictures make it look better than it is (in my opinion) but the size is there. Nobody out @ 7:00AM. Skim is funky at about thigh + too(it was good on yesterday evenings’ tide).
Get it while you can the winds are forecast to pick up as IDA nears our coastline & the seas will be huge(probably unmanageable too). Does that mean a trip to Ft. Pickens?…PCB Pass?… Mexico Beach?…

Afternoon update
Well, surf is still up although the winds have backed off currently. It is still waist + and clean. Kinda funky but looks fun!

Saturday AM report 11.07.09
Surf is picking up! It’s at a clean waist high with occasional bigger sets in the belly range. East/Northeast winds are on it and are going to be picking up throughout the day @ 15-20 mph with higher gusts. There seems to be a small right working off of the pier and the west sides looks good at this point. Who knows what the winds and current will do to it today but there will be surf for the next couple of days non-the-less.
As for right now it looks fun and only a few dudes on it. Updates later!
